About Us

My name is Sian Bates and I started up Aberwiel Saddlery over 15 years ago once I qualified as a Saddler with the Society of Master Saddlers. Aberwiel is the family farm, and roughly translates from Welsh to 'beside the stream'.

I have ridden from a very young age and combined a passion for horses and crafts when I began my Saddlery Diploma at Walsall college. I have been lucky to ride lots of different horses and in different disciplines so hopefully have an understanding of what you are looking for in the equipment you need for your horse.

I offer a full repair service along with stocking a large range of new and secondhand English saddles. I try to stock a good range of quality tack and equipment, all the type of items I would use regularly on my own horses and would not hesitate to recommend!
